"When you want the BEST!!!!"

Where do I begin with this review? I will start out stating that I've never been treated with so much respect and dignity in my life. I am deaf and mute and since my initial contact with Scenic Helicopter Tours in Jan 2015 when I wanted to do my first flight, the service has been nothing but exceptional. Each and every individual has treated me as a family member and that feeling I had when I first flew in Jan. 2015 doing the National Park Tour has left me with wanting to do additional flights. Graham was my initial Pilot and he did a phenomenal job in preparing a written script and doing everything he could to make sure my flight was superb. It was more than superb it left me leaving in tears because of how everyone treated me with such respect and understanding, I often experience the total opposite with other establishments and it creates a complete frustrating experience and disappointment. So when I was planning another vacation for Jan. 2016, I had contacted Scenic again and began working with Marci and she was completely compassionate and understanding. I had a few other things that I wanted to discuss and I began working with Les (General Manager) and again nothing but, understanding and treated me with the utmost respect. I kept in contact with Les for a little over a month, as I coordinated to do something exceptional for the individuals with the company and especially Graham. So Jan. 2016 came around and I got a text from Tommy just confirming my flight times and once again, nothing but professionalism showed. I showed up about a week later and I stopped in to pay for my flight and just to finalize everything and Marci and Tommy was working, they both took diligent care to communicate with me. I use my iPad and iPhone as means of communication as it is the easiest and most effective means not just for me but, everyone involved. Marci and Tommy both assisted me and completed my transaction and it was just a few more days until my Grand Tour adventure! Fast forward a few days - Jan. 16, 2016 the BIG day. So I stopped at a local establishment and catered a luncheon for the staff to express my complete gratitude towards everyone. I feel recognition is always a good thing and they each took great care and pride in what they do! We all enjoyed lunch and communicated, had a great time sharing memories with each staff member. So flight time!!!! I had requested Graham to be my pilot again and Les coordinated everything and it worked out great. I felt since Graham already knew of my background from a year prior it would make it easier for him and myself. Alex was my boarding attendant and he made sure I didn't get a haircut....from the blades. LOL! He assisted in getting me situated in the helicopter and made sure I was comfortable and ready for my flight. And, we are OFF!! We did the Grand Tour and I must say it is truly an experience that everyone needs to take. Graham of course had to do a bit more work with the new written narration because the previous flight I had done was the National Park Tour, which by the way is an awesome flight just as well. But, the Grand Tour it's a bit longer, we started out going over Sevierville, Pigeon Forge passed Gatlinburg and then into the National Park. We went over Cades Cove and Abrahams Falls, etc. Of course, Graham took great pride in pointing everything out and made sure that he took great care of my needs in the flight. I even got to see his Tepee in the park on one of the ridges. It really wasn't his house but, I joked with him that it was. We had some difficulty with clouds being low and just a little wind, but, Graham assured me that everything was just fine. There is so much to say but, I just wanted to give you bits and pieces you just have to experience it, don't want to spoil it for anyone. The flight was exceptional and I had a complete blast; upon landing Lauren, Alex, and Tommy was waiting for our arrival. Lauren took great photos! Alex and Tommy helped assist me getting out and full of "Thumbs UP". I went back in and waited for the Photos and Video to be complete by Lauren and while sitting and waiting I chatted (typed) with a few staff members and told them it was an awesome flight!!!! Graham came back in and the rest of the staff that was working that day we took a group photo and of course I shook everyone's hand and thanked them. I left the parking lot just bawling my eyes out because it is moments like this that make me the happiest and just the care, support and understanding that each of them exhibit are rare traits that you find in this day and age. I continued my day and when I went back to my hotel room for the night I knew that I wanted to do another small flight over Douglas Lake, so I went back the next day and Les was working and I think he was shocked to see me again, I told him I wanted to fly again. It is a much shorter flight but, has great views of the Douglas Dam. Dan was my pilot for this flight and he was just as great and with such a short notice, Dan prepared written narration and details of the flight. You can just tell that everyone takes great pride in what they do and they want everyone to enjoy the views from a helicopter. So in closing, if you are looking for something to do in the area and a company that takes pride in what they do, then Scenic Helicopter Tours is the establishment for you. You won't regret it and I look forward to flying again my new friends at Scenic again soon. Thank you, Scenic Family you're an amazing group of individuals and I can't express enough gratitude. See you soon! - Anthony

My husband and I were in Pigeon Forge on a vacation last week and decided to take a helicopter tour. I had never flown before and was scared to death to do this, however, it was the most amazing experience in my life. Our pilot Dustin was amazing and our boarding attendant was Tyler. I could not believe how much fun it was after we got up in the air. Everything is so much more beautiful in the air because of the view you get while you are flying. I will definitely be doing that again! Everyone was so nice and I could not of asked for a better tour. Thanks guys!!!

Frequently Asked Questions about Scenic Helicopter Tours

How many people do the helicopters at Scenic Helicopter Tours hold?
Our helicopter's hold either three (3) or four (4) passengers. We believe in quality rather than quantity, and our helicopters offer the best visibility with all seats facing forward.

How long do the flights last?
To get the times on the flights, you just cut the miles in half. So for example the River Island flight is 8 miles in distance, so the length is 4 minutes. Please arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to flight time to fill out paperwork and ensure on-time flights.

Is there an age limit?
Not at all. Our youngest passenger was 20 days old and the oldest passenger we know of was 102 years old, so if you're in between those ages you are good to go. If you're older or younger, please let us know so we can make note. Children less than 24 months are free.

Can handicapped people take a flight?
Absolutely! One of our biggest thrills is to enable those who cannot hike the back country trails to still enjoy the beauty of our area.

Do you fly over waterfalls?
No, not any longer. The reason is, that most of the waterfalls in the park are very popular destinations for hikers and in order to see them from the helicopter we have to get very low over them. We decided years ago to discontinue this for the hiker's enjoyment of natural quiet, besides the park offers many other awesome views that are virtually untouched by human feet.

Can we take pictures/video from the helicopter during our Scenic Helicopter Tour?
Yes. In fact, it is highly recommended.

Where is Scenic Helicopter Tours located?
The physical location is 1949 Winfield Dunn Parkway in Sevierville.

Is there a weight limit?
Yes.  In one of our aircraft we have a per seat limit of 300lbs.

Can pets come along for the ride?
No. FAA regulations do not allow us to accommodate animals.
